About WealthSure Lab
Personal finance, lab-tested — by someone who has been there.
Hi, I’m Alex Chen
I started WealthSure Lab because I was tired of personal finance blogs full of recycled tips written by people who never actually did the things they were teaching.
Every article on this site is based on something I have personally tested — with the actual numbers from my own spreadsheets, screenshots from my real accounts, and honest accounts of what worked, what failed, and what I would do differently.
My promise to you:
I will not recommend a credit card I do not carry. I will not review an investing app I have not used for at least 6 months. I will not quote a strategy I have not tried with my own money.
My financial journey (the short version)
Like many people, I learned about money the hard way:
- 2019 — Started with $0 in savings and $32,000 in credit card debt at 24% APR
- 2020 — Used the avalanche method to pay down $18,000 in 14 months
- 2021 — Maxed out my first Roth IRA, opened a high-yield savings account
- 2022 — Hit $50K net worth for the first time
- 2023 — Started tracking every dollar with a custom spreadsheet system
- 2024 — Crossed $150K invested across index funds and a small individual stock allocation
- Today — Helping others avoid the mistakes I made along the way
Honest disclosure: I am not a certified financial planner (CFP) or licensed advisor. I am a regular person who got serious about money and learned from a lot of mistakes. Everything I write is for educational purposes — always consult a licensed professional for your specific situation.
What you will find here
WealthSure Lab focuses on four core areas — the ones I have spent the most time figuring out:
What you will not find here
- Day trading or get-rich-quick schemes
- Cryptocurrency speculation (I do not invest in it personally)
- MLM, dropshipping, or other guru-favorite side hustles
- Recycled content scraped from other finance blogs
- Sponsored content disguised as honest reviews
My editorial standards
Before any article goes live, I check it against these rules:
- Have I done this myself? If not, the article does not get written.
- Are the numbers real? Every dollar amount comes from my own tracking or a cited source.
- Would I send this to a friend? If the advice is not good enough for someone I know, it is not good enough to publish.
- Have I disclosed conflicts? Any affiliate links, partnerships, or referral programs are flagged clearly.
Got questions or feedback?
I read every comment on every post. If you have a question about something I wrote, a topic you would like me to cover, or your own money story to share, drop a comment under any article and I will respond.
Thank you for being here. Every reader matters, and I write every article with the goal of saving you the mistakes I made.
